OLIVER LANG

“He made his name on the island and now he’s a Bora Bora star”, Mixmag, August 2006

The arrival of Oliver Lang at the forefront of clubland has been as well-timed as one of his mixes. 2005 was a monster step forward for the Mixmag Future Hero as he continues to go from strength to strength with Serious Artist Management. With a versatility in style that few DJs can claim, laying down everything from filthy electro to pure funked up house, Oliver is now playing every weekend up and down the UK, rocking the dancefloors of the hottest clubs and most exclusive venues in the country, including the likes of Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Escape and Turnmills

The man seen kicking through the waves in Mixmag’s current Ibiza feature is also the man currently in demand by all clubbers, DJs, promoters, meeja hors and other music buffs in this land we call club. He is… Oliver Lang. This is a DJ who, in 2006, has finally ascended to his throne and taken his place amongst the disco aristocracy. What a year: Spinning to a million people at the Berlin Love Parade… mixing Jamiroquai not once but twice for SONY… watching his own productions top the club charts… accepting invitations to play everywhere from Singapore to Beijing… mixing an album for the Bargrooves series… and that’s before we’ve got to a little rock named Ibiza. His eighth season on the island has been Oliver’s best yet – he showed his commitment to the island by buying a home there, rocked Dusted at Eden for their Sophomore season and, after years playing there as an un-sung hero, was officially named resident at the fabulous Bora Bora, one of the most privileged DJ gigs on the planet.

His style, grace and energy on the decks - as well as funky presentation - win him plaudits wherever he plays, including the attentions of DJ mag, who featured him for the third year running, Radio One and MTV, who interviewed Oliver at Bora Bora as part of their summer coverage.
